Equilibrate
Bring the kit and specimen to the appropriate operating temperature; verify pouch integrity and expiry.

Collect specimen
Fresh feline feces or rectal swab

Prepare & load
Process the specimen with the supplied buffer and collection tool according to the controlled IFU, then load the sample well.

Timed reading
Start timing and read the C/T lines at 10 minutes. Do not interpret outside the IFU-defined window.
Result Interpretation
Result Interpretation
Positive
Both control line C and test line T appear. Line intensity is not a quantitative measurement.
Negative
Only control line C appears. A negative result does not exclude low analyte levels, an early window or intermittent shedding.
Invalid
No control line C appears, regardless of the T line. Repeat with a new device.
Clinical Interpretation
FCoV shedding can be intermittent, so one result reflects the sampling time. Fecal antigen testing assesses enteric infection/shedding; it does not distinguish enteric FCoV from an FIP-associated biotype and must not diagnose FIP alone.
